Another shot from my recent road trip into Pottawatomie Co. As I drove this stretch of county road in late afternoon it seemed I could stop about anywhere and take a shot of typical Kansas country land. The challenge for me and most photographers is trying to make a picture interesting. Much of that comes down to personal preference with the subjects one has. Besides the wonderful tallgrasses that blanket this part of the state I always seem be drawn to the miles and miles of fence that surround individual pieces of land, particularly the older fences made from hedge posts. Throw a sign on the barbed wire and blues of the clear Kansas skies in and I have to stop and snap a shot. Taken with the Canon G11.
