Taken a couple of winters ago along and around Shawnee Lake. The freezing weather may make for some harsh conditions but once bodies of water freeze over they can make for really great textures and patterns in shots. I liked the foreground particularly in this shot. The setting sun made for some nice yellows and golds to show across the ice.
Standing in this area for sometime there was nothing really special about the scene. But like many times before the setting sun brought out the best of the land.
I’m hoping for more opportunities soon as possible to discover the magic of ice.
