For many years I have gathered sayings, quotes, random passages, that I find interesting. Most have been about life, living, the human condition, and creativity. Some years ago I started actually writing these down. I now have a box with hundreds of 3×5 index cards with random quotes and references on them. My hope is to reference these bits of random wisdom when needed. Probably not the best method of keeping things like this. So I thought I should get them on the computer. Then I realized I could start posting some here to at least start with.
Like all manmade things this website and blog will not last indefinitely, but it should work as long as I keep it going on my end. I will need to start the process of moving my collection of physical note cards to the proverbial cloud. Which actually seems like a good place for most of my thoughts to be.
With this new little addition, I have created a new category titled “shorts”. Quotes such as posted this time will be tagged “quotes”. I have some ideas for more “shorts” besides quotes. I might tag these as “random thoughts” perhaps.
Anyway, as this quote by W.H. Murray points out, hesitancy kills, and action has power.
“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too.”
“Whatever you think you can do or believe you can do, begin it. Action has magic, grace, and power in it.”
