Fresh off the Sandisk SD HC card from the G11, I shot this icy edge of Shunga creek about an hour ago during my morning walk with Lexi. We ventured down to a shallow area were most of the ice was very clear except for a few small areas along the edges. I enjoy finding and shooting these types of odd natural formations created by nature and the every changing weather conditions. Could be a new project for this winter and the small Canon G11 sure makes it easy. I also think it’s a good exercise in training ones eye for composition of such unique items. I do wish there would have been more choices this morning but sometimes with photography you have to make the best of what you have.  A unique and many times wonderful image can be found anywhere and in the past I have been guilty of running all over the countryside in search of such things. I seem to be moving towards an approach of staying put and learning to look in more detail at what is close by, something I think all photographers could benefit from.
