The sumac I posted on yesterdays daily pic was taken at this spot, you can see some to the right of this image. This is not a very remote area, it’s part of a public trial system that stretches many miles through my home town. Parts of it are more remote than others but I was happy to venture off the beaten path and find this open area with a few varieties of tallgrasses, Indian and switch grasses mostly, along with the patches of sumac, cattails and native trees and shrubs. From this spot I watched 4 whitetail doe’s playing around and even spooked out a very healthy looking coyote from this very spot.
This shot was taken specifically with the daily pics in mind. It’s a nice representation of the area, I can almost feel myself back there walking the snowy trail.
