If you have every traveled across the state of Kansas on I-70 you have driven past this spot. Known as buffalo mound it appears at the eastern edge of the Flint Hills between Manhattan and Topeka. This is a shot at sunrise looking towards the east. I was heading into the hills and made plans to pull off the interstate and try to capture the silhouetted mound. After hustling around a few different spots I simply parked my truck on the closes off ramp and climbed up to a fence line and made a few shots.
Next time your passing by be sure to remember buffalo mound.
