Another shot from Friday nights Huff & Puff events at Lake Shawnee in Topeka. I found the images of the tag line people interesting as the work to hold the inflating balloons in place. I didn’t count the balloons there this weekend but estimate are probably around 20 or so.

I wasn’t able to make it to Saturdays events due to my commitment as the Kansas State Fair yesterday and, early this morning didn’t happen for the fact that, well I couldn’t drag my butt out of bed at 6am after getting back from Hutchinson at after 1am. Today isn’t exactly a day of rest for me I’m off to Konza Prairie for a workday in preparation for the upcoming visitors day on the 25th. A group of us docents always get together and spend time sprucing up a part of the trail and stone barn around the Hokanson homestead.

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who stopped by the KANSAS! Magazine booth yesterday at the Kansas State Fair. I met more nice people in that one spot in the 3 hours at the booth than I can count. I hope everyone got to grab the free 5×7 postcard print and register for one of the many free giveaways next week during the drawing, including a 18×24 framed/matted fine art print from yours truly. It’s one of my favorite images, fall in the flint hills the grasses turning their lovely colors of golden bronze, red of the sumac in the grasses all overlooking the hills and valleys of our rolling flint hills towards sunset. So again thanks everyone who stopped by to say hi. I did leave a good amount of postcard prints at the booth so if you haven’t made it there yet stop by and grab one.
