A forced stop on a country road due to the road being flooded ahead of me gave me a moment to get out and walk around the wet water logged gravel road. It was teaming with small yellow butterflies who seemed to be attracted to the muddy gravel areas next to the water. Another good opportunity to snap a few pictures with the p80.
I worked this up as a color image first which did make the yellow butterflies standout on the darker ground but the brightness of the gravel seemed to interfere with the look. Another high contrast type of shot I decided to give it a b&w treatment which allowed me to bring out the different tonal ranges on the image.
