There aren’t anymore definite signs of late summer than the good’ol cicada skin on a tree. I found a few of these the other evening on my walk. The sun was going down and started to give these a somewhat creepy feeling which I liked. On a few of them including this shot I took out my small flashlight and hit the subject a few times during the exposure to help pop it out against the darker surroundings. Amazing how much fun I had photographing something such as this. There I go thinking I’m a kid again.
