A shot from my files of last summer. One evening while walking the trails on Konza Prairie enjoying all the late summer wildflowers. I new of a spot that had a nice group of gamma grass growing but wasn’t sure what I would find and had in my mind a some nice textures and lines of the long leaved grasses. Those things didn’t seem to grab my attention as much as this plant with it’s one non-green leave so that’s what I concentrated on.

Worked this up in a typical way then selectively darkened the greener parts of the image to draw more attention to the purplish red color.
