During a little jaunt around my backyard I discovered a few of these fungi growing and doing quit well. Lots of shade and rain always start these things growing. This particular one under a big elm tree had reached about 7 inches in height with the cap the size of my hand. Well of course I had to take a picture of it before removing. Being so close to the ground made it rather hard to get a shot of anything but the top, so I plucked it up and turned it upside down to expose the more photogenic underside. Using the p80 makes getting quick closeup shots like this a breeze. Summer fun with fungus.
