Daily Photograph, December 13
Jumping through some image folders I came across this shot I took on a trip this past summer to the massive wheat fields of central Kansas. The wind blew and blew strong the 2 days I was there, not uncommon. As I was waiting for the sun to sink lower in the western sky I had this scene behind me. The wind blown Indian grasses are what caught my attention. With the grain bins and implement shed on the edge of the harvested field I felt it worth taking a picture.
This image was converted to black and white in photoshop, with control of the separate color levels I was able to darken the sky and lighten the field. A Topaz Simplify layer was then added using the buzz preset.
Outstanding, Brad. Really outstanding.
Thanks Ken, it’s always fun to explore different techniques with shots that at first seem so so. Appreciate your comments.
