~ Honey Locust ~
This months print I consider one of my unique finds of the fall. This beautiful Honey Locust stood out among the glorious autumn trees as a true winner in color and form. Among the woodlands cover in reds, yellows and oranges this one seemed to have it all going on. With no others like it around I couldn’t have been happier with this find.
Exploring this area on a frequent basis, I knew the possibilities await at any given time. A month before with the land still covered in summers green, this specie held no apparent clue of what was to come.
I’ve watched the autumn season progress through all of October with the peak colors coming together towards the end of the month. Much time was spent among the N.E. Kansas Gallery Forest, along creeks and streams, rivers and lakes. As with most years the sights held the magical splendor as only mother nature can provide.
I hope all had the opportunity to enjoy the changing of the seasons, one of the true pleasures of life in the Midwest. Open spaces, rolling hills and the occasional find of the honey locust.
