Prairie Groundsel also call prairie ragwort is another wildflower blooming right now out on the prairies and in the flint hills. Prairie groundsel can be found throughout many regions of Kansas as well. Blooms can be fairly short lived.
They become very noticeable shooting up above the short grasses with their bright yellowish orange blooms. A very attractive addition to the landscape in spring.
