I’m going to post a few photographs here that may seem a little different. As happens on a regular basis, I had an urge to try something new. This was sparked from Scott Kelby’s upcoming World Wide Photowalk to take place in your city on July 24, this Saturday. I have signed up for the downtown group, but I wasn’t quite fast enough to get one of the 50 spots available. So I am number 51 or number 1 on the waiting list. I really believe at least 1 person will not make it so my plan is to show up Saturday morning and if there is an opening I will be in.

There are 2 photowalks being held here in Topeka on the 24th, one downtown and one at Gage park. Now you may thing that the one at Gage park would be more to my liking, since it obviously will be more nature based vs. urban scenes. But that is exactly why I want to walk in the one downtown. This will be a new experience for me, spending a couple of hours walking the streets looking for unique photo opportunities. That’s exciting and I know will be insightful as well. So with that in mind and the possibility that I may not get to join the group I took about 20 minutes last Sunday evening and done my own very quick downtown photowalk.

My thought was simple, take my p80, walk a few blocks and shoot items in the store windows showing the reflections from the windows as well. Most shots were like this, some were non-window reflection shots, different to say the least. So over the next few days I will post a few these photographs.

I think it’s important to always be trying something new to keep that spark of enthusiasm and motivation in photography
